Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor, producer and director. Her name has been acknowledged for films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. The film Piano earned her an Oscar. She started her career acting as an actress both on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. From the time she was a child she's been passionate in the field of acting. She was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school play. The fifth grade was the year that following a bout of mumps, she lost her hearing in the left ear. But she didn't allow that to stop her. As a teenager she studied drama, before moving into New York City. Hunter made her Broadway debut due to an unplanned encounter and Beth Henley, a playwright. Together, they wrote on Broadway Crimes of the Heart. Her first role in film came after she relocated in Los Angeles. Over the past three decades, since then Holly Hunter has been involved in numerous television movies and series. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has also won an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
