Holly Hunter was an American actress, who gained fame due to her roles in films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter has won numerous awards and awards, among them her first Oscar for her movie Piano. At a young age, the accomplished actress began playing on stage for several Broadway or Off Broadway productions. It has always been her passion. In fifth grade, she played Helen Keller in an original play. Mumps led her to lose hearing in one her ear canals, but that didn't stop the actress from following her dreams. In college she studied theatre as well as later moving from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, to New York City in pursuit of her goal. Hunter made her Broadway debut after a chance conversation and Beth Henley, a playwright. The two worked together in Broadway Crimes of the Heart. After moving from New York to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to land films to play. A supporting role was secured for Swing Shift. Since then, she has appeared in several movies, television shows as well as movies throughout the span of a 30 year career. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
