Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is renowned for her roles in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards for her work and has even won an Oscar. Actresses have an extensive career of involvement in Broadway as well as Off-Broadway projects. She has always had an interest in acting since she started high school. Her debut role in a show in the fifth grade was as Helen Keller. She was born deaf in the one ear due to the mumps virus, however she did not let this disability dampen the determination of her to become an actress. When she was a teenager, she studied drama in the college level and then moved into New York City from Pittsburgh in order to follow her dreams. Through a random encounter, she became stuck in an elevator alongside playwright Beth Henley and the two collaborated in the Broadway Crimes of the Heart' which made Hunter's debut. Her first film role came following her move to Los Angeles. Her career spans more than 30 years, and she's been featured in many TV movies as well as series and films. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
